As the Lead Developer at my workplace, I was tasked with developing a game to engage visitors with the Rekorderlig brand by sending them on a treasure hunt.
This campaign was developed twice in different ways, the first used a custom zoomable image of Stockholm and was backed by a ancillary Websockets Server, the second used overlays on Google Maps and a custom Server Side Events streamer.
Each user drew a trail around the map by finding tiny images hidden somewhere on earth. Clues were provided each day and finding an image enabled the next one and displayed a clue to find it.
Prizes for finding images were limited and had to be allocated to the first users who found them. Facilitating this also allowed for real time gameplay notifications from other users, creating a sense of urgency.
